100+ Ways to Say “Thank You!”

  1. Give a hug!
  2. Send an apple.
  3. Pick or buy a special flower.
  4. Make a tissue paper flower.
  5. Give a small plant.
  6. Make or buy a card that says “Thank You”.
  7. Put your handprint on a piece of paper, so she can ”pat herself on the back”!
  8. Create a poem.
  9. Write a story about your favorite time with your teacher.
  10. Draw a picture…the classroom, the teacher at the blackboard, Deep Wood.
  11. Make a picture frame for a special picture.
  12. Bring a special bookmark (bought or homemade).
  13. Bring a small after school snack (fruit, candy, microwave popcorn).
  14. Relaxing bubble bath!

Are you the creative type? These are more involved, but lots of fun!

  1. An appreciation Power Point!
  2. A thank you email! (You can use the school’s website or TeacherWeb.)
  3. A homemade book: a few sheets of paper folder, stapled, or stitched together. Titles: “My 10 Favorite Things about ___________” (the teacher, the class, the year)“10 Things I Learned This Year” “Favorite Riddles”
  4. Find out what your teacher’s favorite animal is and draw pictures of them for her. Write a poem or a story about her favorite animal, or make a cartoon.
  5. Make a CD of her favorite kind of songs.
  6. Give her the instructions for something fun to do that you are good at: blowing bubblegum bubbles, making paper airplanes, the best skateboarding moves, how to catch fireflies…share the secrets to your success!
  7. Start some seeds or cuttings in little pots for her.
  8. A pencil with the note, "Thank you for helping us write our future."
  9. A small mirror with the note, "You are looking at a very special person."
  10. Pay Day bars with the note, "Thought you could use an extra pay day."
  11. Give her coupons for something you can do for her: picking up the trash in the class, straightening up the bookshelf…you know what she needs!
  12. Suggest a vacation spot for the summer: Make a travel brochure for the best vacation place you’ve ever seen.
  13. Make a Bouquet of Thanks: Color and cut out paper flowers. Write a small note of thanks on each one. Come up with words that compliment your teacher.
  14. Give a Super Report Card! Draw a report card that gives her “A’s in special areas, such as Makes Class Fun, Smiles Every Day, etc.
  15. Make a video called “Why Ms. _________ should be Teacher of the Year!”
  16. Compose a song for your teacher.
  17. Teacher Appreciation Certificate: A kid-made cardboard certificate for teacher appreciation will be a fun gift. The child can make a drawing in a corner of the certificate, and then you can add central lines to fill in the teacher’s name, the date, etc.
